Hey all! I have been doing this a while now. BUT rarely play with the FG anymore. But that's all going to change! My question is about gears. Is there any charts on what to run with what? I did convert my MT to an onroad car. I am looking for speed. The layshaft & diff Geary always through me off! Should I just stick to the stock gearing there? What do you all recommend? Thanks for any help!

Does anyone know what the layshaft/diff gear should be? Or do all gears mesh? Not sure if there is always supposed to be a certain number of gears? Thanks

hey I haven't hit 90 yet but ill be going for it this year..u can use 14 ,17 with out modifications just make sure its set properly

the spur carrier will determine what spur you can use. the mt carrier does 46-48 etc... and down. touring car wheels use a 24/40 combo usually. 16/48 mt, 18/46 buggy, 20/44 race truck. the pair always adds up to 64 though no matter what gearing you use.

layshaft depends on how much travel you have at the motor mounts and what gear you use on the dif itself

that's the tire set I run on my avatar. I run 20/44 gearing

those tires kick unless it's wet. traction is awesome. I run mediums front and back and for my touring car to have the same traction I was running extra soft grp's rear soft front. you can get away with running the same compound since the rears are wider... I bought mine from ddm and mediums is all they had and the only place I knew to buy from at the time, that took paypal anyway.

he's in NY, probably joining the dragster group.

So can i run those slicks with the MT?

I have a brand new set of LSD slicks for the MT which are the same dimensions as stock FG offroad tires but i would prefer to run the FG slicks.

Are there any chasis clearance issues with the FG slicks?

If u intend to race with us u need slicks a 2speed and a motor and the best pipe for what we do is the (dominator pipe)..........
