HEMISTORM has shown incredible talent, notwithstanding his TV presentation skills!!
In his recent installation he mentions, and confirms that FG have gone over to CY.
Is this true?
I understand that the CY engines are not the occasional near-disasters, with serious plating failures that they were before, but FG series production with CY and not Zenoah?
REALLY??????

Didnt they use them back in the late 90's after the solo engine run?
Given the current global economic climate I can see them using CY as it will be cost driven and most companies are run by accountants nowadays. They are more on a par with Zenoah so shouldnt really be a problem providing the plating issues don't return.

Mike is probably the person to confirm this.

its no surprise mate at the end of the day its all about money cy have probably undercut Zenoah, im sure that fg used cy engines in the past so its nothing new and with the cy's plating issues apparently a thing of the past its no longer a big issue plus there 4 bolt now so alls good but id still feel better with a zenoah

Agree, the Zen engine is definitely a 'nice to have' from new. Are there any other manufacturers who use Zen as their standard engine?

Only had a few issues with the CY in the past with plating on my engines but they have defiantly improved.

Still rather have a Zen...

My CY f270 which is a year old and has about 2 gallons through it just had a plating issue. I just don't know if it was faulty or my fault.
