hi i new here sorry if this has been mentioned before, but i got a hummer 1/6 scale i think unsure as recently got off a friend with no details but thing is i got a prob with my servo first off sometimes it doesn't turn left? and secondly its eating them everytime i take it on ruff terrain it a hitec hs805bb for the steering its says 1/4 scale on it does anyone know what upgrades i can get ie metal gearing and bit on top as it keeps snappin cheers guys ill try take some pics but in peices at the mo lol!!!

Think with the 805's you need to run two of them, or a single beefier servo like a Rhino or 5745 Hitec. :)

Just as Ducky said. The 850bb does not have an upgraded metal gear set. You will just keep snapping the plastic gears. Swap it out to the Rhino or 5745MG is your best bet. Either one will work just find which one is a better deal at this time. The other issue with running two 805bbs is servo matching. Unless you have a good radio or programmer not matching the servos can limit the life of the servo motors. You should also make sure you are watching where your end points (Steering stops hitting arms) to make sure the servo is not over steering and straining to push on the arm. You can see a small video of it HERE.
Good luck.:clover:

The 5745 does come with the alloy servo arm. The screw is not the same as the standard servo screw. The standard screw is a course thread and the 5745 has an aluminum output shaft that has been tapped for a fine thread screw.

Trip..

I think your talking about the two fasteners to secure the steering rods to the servo horn? If so, If I remember right you mount it the same way as stock. I think you need to drill out the metal horn holes for the screw to fit and then use a lock nut to fasten on the top side.:)
We can get you some photos if you have difficulty.

nice one guys ill let you know soon as im having trouble which i prob will as they very fiddily as stock lol oh well the joys lol!!
