either 1 as they are almost identical....the only differences are the motor mounts, rear diff, clutch carrier and the clutch pinion.

I would look around before buying from that vendor:blush: you can find the Firehammmer for $100-200 less on ebay

Wow. Thats a nice looking car. I guess you kept the rose joints in plastic for it to give in instead of something else to breake or bend, really smart. Isnt the rollbars supposed to extend to the front to stop any flex of the chassis-plate?

How does the FG Marder compare to Duratrax Fire Hammer http://bigboystoysandhobbies.com/duratrax_

Is it a cheaper model (copy cat) version? What is more durable? And is there a big price difference? What would u recommend!

Thanks guys!

You can also buy a clone of the clone - Spider or traveler and save some more $$ and install your own servos and controller if they are not RTR - Some of them. All the controllers that come with the standard RTR's from big box companies are just enough and no more.:(
The Firehammer has the same glitches and problems the FG Marders do since there is only a few real items that have been changed. You could have a real hopped up alloy Smartech traveler Spider or Firehammer for around the same as a FG buggy especially now that the $$ is less then the EUR.:(:)

This is what the spider looks like - Not saying buy these.

If you ever are looking for these types look on ebay or google "1/5 scale" and it will open up the clones. Stay away from XRC ones they are very problematic from what owners have said.

Very Nice...

Would've been cheaper if you had bought the chasis only since you got rid of everything else.

Well, I wish that's what I've done anyway :)

Well somebody has to say it. The clones come with cloned motors and other issues which you may choose to upgrade anyway. I looked and having seen both I say you get what you pay for so whatever suits your budget is the machine for you. Personally I like owning the Marder because it is the real deal too, but lots of guys have just as much fun driving clones.

I am not bashing your comment but, in some areas the FGMT has come with a CY26cc.

No worries, mine are both stock Zenoah 26cc but I know some LHS "borrow" from unsold stock and replace with what they have on hand later. Maybe some came that way from Germany??? I did intend to buy a Firehammer myself but research convinced me to just get what I really wanted, an FGMT. Ironically the Firehammer I was going to purchase ended up having no end of problems for the poor guy who did buy it and changed hands again quickly 2 more times before I lost track. That said I would still say that I read lots of good reviews of FHs as far as bang for the buck!!!

not all of them, a buddy of mine bought his son a Firehammer buggy, it can with a Zen 260 which surprised me.
price wise he paid 919.00 out the door. (local lhs ordered it for him) even though i could get him one off ebay for 300.00 or so less and probably had it sooner than the lhs did.

he didnt want to listen as that was the one his 10yr old son wanted.
but its a pretty nice unit, but not 920.00 nice imo.
Tim

Cool, I have learned there are exceptions to every rule but I would guess there is a story to how that got on an FH... I would rather not pay $920 for one either, the one I was looking at was $500CDN rtr, it is for sale again I believe for $700 now with some hop ups. I would never knock one and I know the parts are compatible but I have had bad experiences with knock off type stuff (spun an XRC hub in 2 minutes:no:)
