just bought the DDM head kit ill update you all when its fitted cheers for all the info:D

Which did you get matey? I just bought a CY with a DDM 26.9 head off CSR260 for my new marder (marder No2 thread). Cant wait to get it running but Im having to wait til next week for some new engine mounts  You will probably get it delivered and up and running before I get mine rebuilt so let me know how it goes ;)

my experience is FG are one of the best platforms out of the box. built right from the factory unlike some of the Rovans and KM's that have loose bolts and no oil in diff's etc.

i wouldnt be giving up FG for another make as chances are you would have more problems. Did you buy your marder new or second hand?

i bought it second hand but it was all stock
and dwarfy i bought the ddm head kit that voo2doo recomended abit earlier in this tread

difficult to know what kind of a life it had before you owned it, if it was new and like this then i understand your concern but second hand can always be a bit of hit and miss.

rest assured you have an excellent platform, id recomend one night do a long session, strip it down and put it all back together, replace any worn/bent bolts.

Normally within 3-5 days m8.
If you ordered a head kit, it's bound to have cost more than the £18 threshold for Customs - sorry, but true.
You'll PROBABLY be receiving a grey Post Office slip through your door telling you that you owe £x-yz and to collect from ?? ?? Post Office.
It will be calculated on the total goods value.
They CAN and DO SOMETIMES include the postage if it's high, but normally my experience is it is 20% of declared goods value on the package by DDM.
What naffs me off is the additional HANDLING CHARGE the Post Office slaps on it for basically doing the SAME job they always do - deliver it!!

My guess is you're waiting on the Post Office. I still have a problem unless you live in a really remote area. Maximum delivery time without the Customs fathing around is probably one week with DDM.
I would not expect more than an additional week.

If you've been waiting 3 weeks, I'd start interrogating the dog or looking for scraps of grey card near your letterbox !!

Oh,forgot to say. When you order from DDM if its under 18 GBP it will be ok ,if you order over that ther will be an import charge(normally 8.00) plus a Royal mail extortion fee of 4.00GBP.
J

and plus the dreaded 20% VAT:mad:the £8 is a handling charge to take off the plane for customs house :w00t: there could also be an import fee of 5% depending on what the items are

K....

I've taken my FG's for Josh Cryul jumps over my house and never broken a thing, I don't understand your problems. I've had mine now for 4 years and I'm just now starting to get some weak plastics, but I'm positive that it's old age. My FG's have been the strongest and most resilient R/C's I've ever owned in the past 20+ years. I have well over 50 gallons of fuel ran through my 2 FG's.

I own almost every largescale now and few things in this world excite me like my FG's! Next step is brushless!

Just stick with it and read the forums, the more you learn, the better off you'll be.
