there ok i got a set just like that from ebay did leak a bit but thats easy fix just had to replace lower o rings cheap fix mine were the 20mm fat shocks i paid fair bit more than that but be prepared to spend a little more replacing seals ect plus one of the plastic bottom bits looks broken no big deal when working they atre very good shocks
 
he says there the fat shocks, would you say there the 20mm fat shocks? and i don't mind bout replacing seals as would be cleaning and polishing them up to look newish

yeah they look the same as mine well worth the money if you don't mind replacing the seals they will be brand new once youve done that mine were still working strong 6+months later all ive done is added the alloy upgrade pistons changed seals very good shocks now there is a thread i posted on here somewere fg 20mm fat shock mod
 
hi can you give me some links to were to buy everything to rebuild the fat boy shocks and also a link to alloy upgraded pistons.

i lost out on them shocks :( but might have found some more in better condition :)
 
hi mate i get everything i need new from www.thepitstopshop.nl there first class have every part you could ever need plus 100000s more good fast service cheaper than most in the uk which is crazey but cheapers cheaper couple of quid saved here and there helps in a cheap hobby like this lol
 
cant help you on that one i just put 2000/3000 its what i had knocking about will be changeing it soon but its working good did you look at my bug on shock mod thread looks good on there but now its even better it has the anti roll bars fitted front and back but some on here remove rear one but im likin it
 
ill just fidle bout shock oild till i get the right combo, yea saw your tread on the shock mod, think thats what ill do when i get my shocks and see what condition there in ;)
mines got both the swaybars, don't see the prob with the rear as mines fine :D
just tested some kcr front ballon springs out and they make the steering handle alot better

nearly double the price of the tatty shocks but well worth it as they look brand new:devil:

just need to find all the seals to rebuild and need the part number for the alloy upgrade pistons

can any one reccomend what shock oil to use as don't want to be buying lots of different wieghts just to find out a good combo

Ive just got the std FG shocks on my marder & they seem to work ok. I put an anti roll bar on the front and KCR balloon springs on the back to improve the handling tho. Works well :cool:
 
i think stock handlings abit stiff just recently got kcr ballon springs for the front but trying to find some in black for the rear shocks :)
 
the broken down crap shocks was the first link i posted at top :D the new ebay links are off the newish shocks and they look spot on there the fat better shocks, am i right in thinking i got a bargain???
