im not to sure which bod to use the beetle or the hummer and also the wheels ive got the carson ones and those cheap and nasty ones from fs racing which i don't think will last long but they do look good

what ye think lads good or bad

I like the beetle better and with the FS wheels, pity they are yellow though. I reckon one of USABaja5's lexan Baja trophy truck bodies would be close to a perfect fit on the stretched chassis - ever thought of picking one up?

Interesting, Have you tried it out yet? I have seen a few extend the length of their FG's by making up their own chassis out of flat stock and liked the performance. It's good to know there may be a chance of buying a larger chassis and modifying the holes for those of us that don't have a press or break or want to stress out the chassis with bending it. I have always liked the Beetle body so thats what I would go with but, I might change the color of the side shields to black? You did alot of work, good job on the mod...:cool2:

hi monaroman

thanks i was thinking of that to but to get that here its going to cost $259 and thats only the shipping costs then the body i don't know what they cost i suppose i will have to do with the beetle bod for now

Hi!

Is that a TGN pipe you have?

I don't recognize the silencer, I got a smaller and longer one included with my TGN pipe.

What way will you connect the pipe with the front shocktower?

Porto

yep its a tgn i got that from ams oh im not to sure what im going to do yet with the pipe and how im going to fasten it ill have to make a bracket or something when its ready i will post additional photos oh ive also decided to mount some front cable breaks because the back standerd break was nothing at all

you said you have the tgn pipe but where did you get that from its sounds new with that description

Then I guess I have a newer model.
I got this one, also the non-polished version:

I also see a little difference: I have a removable silencer which got a spring to the exhaust on top of it, like on the manifold side. The pipe on this picture doesn't, nor the pipe on the AMS site do... weird...

Better not too tighten the shocktower support because of flex issues. I merely drilled a hole in the shocktower and tightened the support with a thick tie-wrap; that way it's never too tighten and will not break anything out front.

I think you can simply re-length the support to reach the shocktower.

ye but where did je get it from then i cant find what you have ive been looking oh also do you have any problems with the two pipes meet together at the manifold i do and i think is is because i did a mod on it last year so i could get the beetle body as low as possible i like the low look. its leaking all the enigine gets covered in oil after a few runs

ps welcome here its nice to see another fellow country man here its a good forum not that big like rcu its like a little country town (dorp)

wat ells are you runnig

Looks great Sickboy, what you are doing is what I like about this hobby. I also prefer the Beetle body. I would probable move the body forward just a tat, it appears of center. I also think some type of front bumper, perhaps the on off your FS truck, would help set of the front. Keep up the great work.

hi mucker and thanks ive just finished the servos that went ok you said move the body forward a bit i did that 2 days ago but the wheels keep rubing against the frame so that why its siting where it is now the bumper i still need to mount i know so many things to do i think it will be ready this weekend so ill make a vid and stick it on youtube for all to see

the masterpeace :clown:

oh hows your fs doing

I bought mine 2nd hand a couple weeks ago so don't know where the previous owner bought the pipe. I will ask him though.

Got this one:

Another possibility is that the original silencer has been replaced for this one. Is your silencer removable or welded to the exhaust?

It's leaking a bit at the manifold, I still have to figure that out.
Maybe using liquid gasket on the manifold will solve the leakage?

I also have the TGN pipe, the same as the OP's pipe.
I put RTV high temp silicon exhaust gasket sealant on the header joint to cure the messy leakage, works a treat.
Just need to find something to go on the end of the silencer to direct the exhaust away from the inside of the body, gets a bit messy inside the rear of the body.

hi i think yours is updatede version mine is fixed to the pipe but never the less im happy with it gives a lovely sound and alot of umff in the top + bottom end now to sort the leakage out with some liquid gasket

hey andy get ye self down to the diy center and their they will have alloy piping thats where i get my alloy from

mine was bought from DDM.
Could be an updated version but also can be an outdated version because I guess the newest one is what they sell now as pictured on their website.

Advantage of a removable silencer is easy cleaning of the pipe and you can experiment the pipe without the silencer from time to time. :clown:
I can say you, without it it has a sh*tload of noise!
