The BIGGEST thing that was missing here is you both should of made sure the payment was "tracked" someway. That way easy, you could prove it was sent and marvo, you would be at ease that the check was sent and the buyer didn't want to take your item without paying. I agree it is strange that a seller send the item before receiving the payment, that is just not done these troubling days.
 
I agree that it is your right that change your mind at any time but if the both of you agreed to a deal then it should have been carried out. Especially if he has sent payment. Thats the only thing questionable here. If he did send it turn around send it back that same day registered .That away he can't say he didn't receive it back.

Now I'm 100% on your side Marvo about shipping the truck before the check clears. In no way ,shape , or, form would I send anything before the money cleared.

I just bought toez71's mcd from him. I sent him a money order for it. I knew what I was getting into when I sent him that type of payment. He lives in Canada so it took about 2 weeks for him to receive the money order. Once the money cleared he sent it out. I just got it yesterday. 3 weeks after he sent the truck to me. All in all thedeal took 5weeks to complete.

Easy you shouldn't expect the man to send you a high dollar item like this truck with you only providing a pic of the check. I wouldn't do it and you wouldn't either.

Marvo the biggest thing is you got to have your heart right when you sell one of these. Once you make a deal you need to stick to it. You will get a lot more respect that away and it will be a whole lot easier doing deals.

You have to admit though $700 shipped for a truck in that good of shape does sound awfully cheap.
 
Yeah i priced it to sell because i needed money pretty fast,that changed. And just a update no check in the mail..........
 
Not taking his side but if hes in Canada it takes around 2 weeks to have something delivered from there. I'm waiting on a money order from there myself and it was sent out a week and a half ago.

We talked about our kids and hobbies for hours on the phone .

Nice guy and I sent the money to him .

It takes a bit of time indeed .

Maybe I asked for too much to send before the payment clears.

I offered to port your motor and carb marvo for that favour No $$ just a friendly gesture.

Offered to cover the difference and still you turn around and do this to me.

Very disappointing that is all I have to say .

I WOULD NEVER DO THIS TO ANYONE AS A MANS WORD IS WORTH TO ME.

I GUESS THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE .

THE DATE IS ON THE LETTER GUYS AND SO IS THE CHEQUE DATED AS WELL .

Here is how I see it and I don't really know marvo or easy other than from reading posts here and there.

marvo put up an item for sale. easy offered to purchase the item.

At that point to me once easy said he mailed a money order or check or what not the deal is set. You really can't turn back because the person paid for your item. Once you make a deal you should follow through.

Now I don't know if easy actually did or didn't mail a check/money order, but I will say that it does take some time to get stuff from Canada. On average 1-2 weeks this time of year. I run a business and work a lot with Canada so trust me on this.

At the same time I would never ever mail anything out if I were to sell an item until I have received the funds and they have cleared. Banks tell you it can take weeks, but that is bs. If you deposit a check and then call the bank in 4-5 days they will be able to tell you by then for sure for the most part. Some times it does take longer, but not by much.

At this point I would try and just work this out. If marvo really insists on not completing the transaction then you can't really stop him. easy if you sent a check just call your bank and have then put a stop on it and he won't be able to deposit it and he won't have to mail it back. If it was a money order and you did actual mail it the right thing to do would have marvo either mail it back or send you the truck.

As for the shipping goes. marvo you said that $700 with free shipping in the USA. It is going to easily cost you $30+ to ship within the USA due to weight and size. If easy offered to pay you $40 to ship it I don't see anything wrong with that if shipping to Canada is $70.

All in all I hope you guys get this worked out. If I am needed anymore feel free to send me a PM, but I hope you guys get this taken care of.
