I want to take the MT out on some beach work during winter. I know something must be done about the clutch bell. Ive seen a cover on the CFR site that cover the spur and layshaft but don't think this will help the clutch bell.

What are my options? What else needs attention?

you know, I wonder if drilling a few holes on the outer edge would allow sand to come out, kinda like putting holes in the outside tread of tires to let crap out. wonder if you could bevel the inside a bit to keep from wearing the clutch.. just a musing from reading this.

it might work. im more concered about when sand gets in there getting jammed betweend shoes and the bell. no matter how you drill it some will always stay in there. i think the only answer is to stop it getting in there in the first place.

but i don't know allot about these things so I could very easily be wrong.

do you think it would be possible to put pre-filter type material between teh grankcase and gear plate, so prevent the stuff getting in?

if you need any images, my engine is out at the mo
