well they arent, they are all based off the same engine from 23cc to 30.5cc. just think of a small block chevy, 267 to 400ci, but you have a 396 big block. the term bigblock and smallblock really means nothing in gas r/c.

I don't understand it either why people want the 4x4 version.
The hole reason that sets apart 1/5 scale On-Road racing from the other smaller scale is the fact that it takes a lot more thottle control and finess driving.
I do understand about the parking lots surface condition. What I do is that I try to clean as much as I can or remove the bigger debri from the surface before driving around.
I also hear a lot of drivers complaining that the 1/5 scales are either too slow or its not a 4x4, like the smaller scales and I tell them that they shouldn't be trying to change 1/5 into a bigger smaller scale, instead if they are interested in 1/5 scale racing then change your mentality.
I am not saying what is better than the other, we are all different and we all like different styles.
Hey, if we had 20 drivers with 4x4 on-road 1/5 scale cars, I would love to see them race on a race track. But the fact is that most of us already have a rear wheel drive car.
I for one will not be gettign a 4x4 car. I rather spend that money into a mod engine or parts.

I sold my 4wd rally, to invest in a 4wd off road buggy. if we race 4wd, I'll just put road tires on my buggy I guess. I just let the doubters drive my semi and they change their tune. I can spank my old 4wd with the semi without a doubt. and it doesn't often lose traction until a couple wheels are off the ground hehe

we already have overpowered 1/5 scale onroads. i run a cy26 with a meilke side power pipe in my sportsline, its got too much torque. yea 4wd would be handy to put the power down, but why? the problem with going to a big motor is a decrease in rpm and the power band is moved way down, so to combat that you need taller gearing to get the speed back, then you have lost the bottom end and its hard on clutches. bigger just isnt always the answer, a nicely built 23cc will be more than enough power in any onroad car.

ive got a nitro tc3 (1/10 scale touring car) with a rossi .21, the thing will dam near hit 80mph (roughly 130km/h), i cant throw enough gear at it, thing is after 5 laps i pull off the track cause at that point im bored.
..................You pull the big block NTC-3 off the track because you are bored??? Is that because you can't handle it?? How can you be bored with that ?? Unless it is not set up properly and you can't drive it. I think 4wd would be better on a unprepaired surface.

Hi all, heres an o8 sportsline with a 27.2 motor. Out ran a 5S brushless with no problem. Cant do this with a 4x4....

TS 26cc engine on a FG 4WD on-road car

Hi guys, just wanted to know if a TS engine would fit onto the 4WD on-road car? Will it be a straight drop in for the engine or will there be any mounting/clearance issues? Is there any part that I will need to accommodate the TS engine?

the ts engine mounts the carb down on the side of the block. i guess if it fits in an offroad fg it would work, however i cant say ive read or seen pics of an fg with a ts reed case motor

It seems so difficult to find a post with pictures of a TS engine on a FG 4wd. I'm sure there are people who have tried fitting the TS engine onto these FGs, be it on-road or off-road. Just can't seem to find a relevant post that confirms whether it fits or not..
