holly smokes that is bad ass as the french man says
id buy 1 of them cab inserts if you had 1 for sale
love it mate paul
Thanks for the kind words Paul!

I'm happy to print & ship one if you're actually interested, but I'm fearful that the shipping cost from Canada alone would make it a scary price tag. It would also be a lot cheaper (and faster) to do the print in a single color instead of in all. Shoot me a DM and we can chat about what you want and if it'd work.

And at long last... the FG Street Truck rebuild is complete!

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out in the end. My only complain really is that the timing now makes it garage art until spring. At least it's pretty!

It's been a LONG time coming, but I FINALLY got the FG Street Truck out for a few proper rips over the past week.

The weather has been utter GARBAGE in Canada this year, with April and May just being straight up cold, and June being just silly wet. July has come in with everything from heat, to hail, to rain, to crazy wind.... but on a couple of nicer days I was able to sneak out for a bit and burn off a few tanks of fuel.

Now I will say, that I admittedly had pretty low hopes for the actual performance and handling aspects of this build. The old FG Sportsline platform isn't very cutting edge, and between that and the 2wd layout, I did sort of expect the thing to be a bit of a hot mess in actual driving conditions. This thing is after all, going to be directly compared to my brushless MCD XR5-Max.

On top of that, I had largely turned my back to gas engines in RC some 10+ years ago, and figured this power-train would be short-lived (as I have a G1 Max5 setup that could use a home). Much to my surprise, the sound and feel of the old Zenoah brought a huge smile to my face, and I found myself quite enjoying it. The slightly softer start to the power band (compared to brushless) made the truck much more stable under power, and the top speed was actually significantly faster than I expected.

Overall handling was surprisingly balanced, and the steering was quite excellent. Snapping the rear end around was actually fairly hard, unless you did something dumb or intentionally gave it a Scandi Flick and a bunch of gas.

The motor ran strong through two tanks of fuel over three days, though it probably does need to be leaned out a hair (lots of smoke), and maybe have the idle dropped a tiny bit.

The interior adds a fun aspect of realism too it, though the front tires do just contact it it full travel. At some point I'll make a few tweaks to the CAD file to resolve this and print a new version, but for now it's a non-issue.
