Strange that about Lauterbacher as when I was thinking about getting into 1/5 scale years ago Lauterbacher was the one that I came accross the most.

Thanks for the info mike!

if it was me id stick with the fg mate best spares available new and used athough i like all the others mentioned above its just fg's are the most common and youre not going to struggle getting parts

Yeah they are the most easily available parts wise.. But if I buy the contrast or the one in the link mike posted.. There would be no need for buying upgrades as they are already top spec car. But yeah it's def an advantage with the Fg.

are you going to be racing or car parking as i really don't see the point spending that sort of wedge on something thats going to be spending a hour here and there on a dusty ruff parking lot if your going to get into racing then yes a evo or contrast is a must and worth the extra cash,i would love a evo fg but it seems a lot of wedge for just using in a dusty ruff parking lot were what ive got is perfect for me although i would love to race its just not possible for me at this time

I don't really have enough spare time for racing altho I'd like to... But I just know if I buy something cheaper I'd end up spending more in the long run upgrading it! I'm always looking for something shiny to add to the car even if it dosent need it! But would also look good on the shelf with all the top end stuff.. I'm like a magpie when it comes to these cars.. Lol. Plus I like the idea of having something different than every one else.. The contrast looks much different to the Fg chassis wise..

Still... 800 is a little steep!

you know that mate,,,mine cost me £500 but ive now spent that again on changing the servos radio tray ect oh and the £110 on a carbon filter that im waiting for now what it didnt even need lol but im the same looks are a must if its shiney or carbon im in like a magpie,,i must admit it looks great on the shelf lol and the fact i can go out for a hour and it just needs dusting off and still looks the part im not at all bothered about fg's being common you make it your own anyway,,its the easy to get upgrades and parts that sold me the fg you just cant go far wrong with them

I was tempted by that myself! Really nice shell and we'll modded car.. Bit of a shelf queen.... Where would you use it though? Its semi off road isnt it.. Think it's worth the price tag? It's definatly been loved.

you can use it in more places than a 2wd fg mate its a rally slag gravel grass tarmac 4wd drifting the list goes on mate and i agree its a nice spec and one of the best looking bodyshells

Theres only really one place near me that's suitable for 1/5 scale bashing , it's big carpark at the football stadium, I was thinking about getting a Baja aswell for offroading, not sure if the mcd would get wrecked taking it offroad and abusing it! But it would look great On the shelf... I'm still playing with that idea.. But mostly I like the look and shells for the touring cars.. Shame there's not as good a selection as 1/10 scale.

Iv got a couple of helicopters aswell.. And looking at getting into planes... But they need a lot of space which puts me off.. I'm addicted to rc!!! Or maybe just miniatures.. As I'm into bonsai too... For once I wish I could find a nice cheap hobby... Like paint by numbers or something lol

its like a crack habit mate i sold most of what i owned to get the bug finished and now im just keeping the 2 ive got sometimes in life youve got to be gratefull of what you have got and at the mo im happy with what ive managed to get

Your right it is a crack habit lol... I'm never happy... I'm always on eBay buying things I don't need! Most of it lays around the house never getting used... Think I need help, or at least a ban from eBay. Bought a used m3 Bodyshell this week from simonsfgspares, and a mielke hurricane pipe that dosent even fit the Carson.
