Hey guys......

My buddy has an FG that starts up fine....motor revs great ....truck barely moves...he has checked the clutch...its brand new.... 8000 spring..

It sometimes goes about 2 feet but then just revs out and hardly moves...

any ideas??

Thx

Did he check the grub screws on the gears and layshaft. There's a flat spot on the shaft, that's where the grub screw should make contact

yeah he did.......they spin fine on a stand but on the ground it has issues????

I told him to check wheel grub screws....would that cause the motor to sometimes not rev a bit???

+1 navi. Mine was the pinion gear grub screws but couldnt see it when I was out cos I have a gear cover & it was full of sand at the time

ok ....he came by ....now it seems the motor just bogs out when gassed......it starts but does not sound right, when you apply gas it bogs then dies....

Dooe not always respond to radio ,give it gas....sometimes it revs up but bogs mostly....

any ideas???

It may be a wt-813 carb then. What you can do is set the needle setting to stock. The 813 likes to be around stock settings from what I have heard. Someone with a 813 will need to help you out a bit more after you get it to stock.

There are two needles. One is labeled L which is the low end. The other is labeled H for the high end. Thats the easy way of thinking about it.

The stock setting will be:
11/4 L
11/2 H

These are set by turning the needle all the way in and turning the correct amount of turns out to equal the above. Make sure not to tighten the needle when it hits bottom lightly let it bottom out.

Turn it in until it just moves the butterfly. This will open the throttle just enough for it to stay running. You can then adjust it after your needle settings are set.;)

turn your idle screw in until this stops happening, what happening is at idle your carby arm isnt sitting on the idle screw, when you brake it pushes the carby arm/link further than where it goes on idle causing it to stall.

id say idle screw for sure.
