Spent the last three week researching the redcat MT. Pulled the plug and bought it last week. Been selling rcs and parts to put into upgrades and spare parts for the MT that is scheduled to be here tomorrow. Got all the required parts in today. Including the new ring and bearings for the CY26 motor with the big bore kit I was going to put on the MT. Now we get 6 inches of snow the last 12hrs. With another 6 inches forcasted for tonight and the temps are dropping. Low expected of -12 tomorrow night. Plastic doesn't hold up in the low temps we all know. I run brushless rcs all year round even in these temps but it's just a drag looking back at last week, Had 50 degrees outside during the day and sun shinning when I made the purchase. I am still taking the MT out when I get done going over it and installing the upgrades but darn it. I was hoping to get this beast over to the big hills and rough terain. To give it hell before the snow hit. I had to make chain for the 2 wheel drives rcs I had in the past but the other 4x4 rcs I had that had the masher style tires did good. Just by flipping them around so the tread was backward. The benifit of those brushless setup was forward and reverse. I am guessing the heavy MT will do well plowing through the snow as long as it can get traction. I hope UPS doesn't get held up in the weather. Worry, worry, worry. lol

Any genral tips on driving a gasser in these conditions and temps. I will probably throw the sand paddles on the 5b and try it out tomorrow. I read that the baja you need to watch the throttle linkage freezing up on you around the carb. How about the Rampage MT?

Mine has been ok in the snow. I tend to really like it after the plows have been out, leaving a nice slick and slippy road, tons of fun. I put mine through 6" plus of snow but it's more fun on the slick stuff. I used the stock tires and setup. I've got some baja paddle tires on order for my MT in the snow

Plus your gonna need some time to set it up. I just got mine yesterday, and it' needs some TLC. You have to go over it with a fine tooth comb. I had some loose grub screws, the servo arms were installed wrong, and many bolts were loose.

Still very happy with the purchase.

and don't hit anything. plastic is more brittle in cold. good advice on richening up too Obeast. cold air is more dense. it works opposite to what you would think it would do

Adverse Weather has postponed the delivery. Will be here tomorrow. I put the paddels on the 5b and went out for a little bit. Up until the throttle started acting like it was getting stuck.

Tomorrow I will not stare out the window up the road all day long looking for the UPS truck. Well I didn't do that but every car that went by was worth a head turn. What sucked was being stuck here. No one else was around to sign and that's an automatic 1 day penelty from UPS. I had hope right up until 7pm tonight when they changed the track info to read tomorrow.

When no one signs for mine I call the number on the tag they left, have then hold it at warehouse, and go pick it up the next day at UPS instead of waiting for them to come to me and missing it again. Eh?
