I even put marvel mystery fluid on the foam to help the fine dust from getting in . I use the aluminum offset intake with an outerwear , the k& n filter style , with foam inside of that . I have to disagree, as I run in fine dust, I have seen the difference with and without the outerwear. Yes it does get through but, stops a lot of the fine stuff.
 
Literally after 4 years and 2 sets of outerwears, my stock filter still looks brand new. Only went went the new setup for eye apeal.Only reason for 2nd set of outerwears was for a color change. I absolutely recommend and wouldn't run without.The crankcase cover is the only one mildly difficult to install and you just need to super glue that velcro strip to the case in couple spots. Again going into 5th year with o.g one I put on when truck was brand new. Got em on shocks too!!!
