I am looking for a good set of tires that will get good traction on and off road for my Firehammer MT. Also I would like to know where to get a goods set of bead locks for my hammer .:2guns:

if you source out the adaptors for the redcats you can use redcat mt tires. there soft and last a good while. plus they are pretty damn big. i'll look in a little bit, but i saw a set on an fg mt and they look pretty cool. they are also bead-locks and a set of 2 with rims/tires/beadlocks/ only cost $89.. jts have to find the adaptors.

I have found those big tires take a lot of power to turn them....
For my firehammer I went with ramtech adapters and baja wheels....
I am using Hostile AT'S on the rear...Those grip very well off road...you get some wheel spin on road if ya hammer on the throttle...I use baja dirt busters on the front...
For my application this works very well....I can pull wheelie's on demand with this set up......I have Fg wheels & big tires....I will not be running big tire any more.....
Hope ya find what will work out for ya......Slawhammer

Ramtech Adapters

It seems everyone is out of stock. Do you have a sorce that may have some in stock also are they sold in pairs? Slawhammer do you have links for the tires you are using if so can you post the links? Thanks

check out TGN to the right of the page..the adapters come in a set of 4
you want FG to baja......Slawhammer

sorry bud. i came up with the same thing. i would call rob(RAMtech) and see if he has any old ones or if he plans on making any more. slawhammer is right. tires are heavy. 9lbs to be exact. they are slitly bigger then fg mt tires. but they are wild!! super soft and hook up great. i run them on my 4wd. i think slaw is running buggy tires.. that should handle pretty well

You are correct..on running the baja wheels....I feel baja has a better slection
of wheels and tires.....Slawhammer
PS If you read his first post..he id looking for tires for his FirehammerMT...Not for a redcat

HPI Tires Setup on Firehammer MT

Does anyone have any feed back on this set up Front -Dirt Buster Rib Tire Front Wheel Set and for the Rear-Dirt Buster Block Tire Rear Wheel Set and I and going to buy these AMS Wheel Adapter Set (FG, Carson, Firehammer to HPI) from DDM. How will this look with my original mt truck body? If you have any pics with this setup on a firehammer mt body please post?

i am personelly not a fan of the front ribbed tires on the mt. but they work well. i think the hpi adapters are great. check these bad boys out.

or check out some of hostil tire sets.. more pricey but worth it.

keep in mind if you go to a smaller tire that you may lose some to end and have to re-gear a little bit.

with a narrower front tire and you turn hard right or left you can roll the truck over at a good speed...they are a little tricky to drive at first....Like I said I like the choice of baja wheels and tires....The hostileAT tires are really awesome on the rear..I am using the baja rib dirt buster..seems to work just fine...The tire's are for the baja so they would be for buggy use....You can ask CSP he use's the hostile tire........I have done alot of work to my firehammer...to get the bugs worked out..to run better....Slawhammer

Should I run the same size all the way around or go with narrower tire in front?
i personelly would go all the same size just for the look of the truck. but running skinny tires up front will give you alot more stearing responce. the hostil tires are a little bit shorter as they are designed for a buggy. the proline excavater tires are taller. they measure 7.5" high. we run those on our mt's as well. you wont have to re-gear with the excavaters, but for sure you will lose some top end with the shorter buggy tires

don't forget gregg. with the hostiles you need to buy foam inserts wich will run you another 30 shells, plus matching rims and beadlocks.

Let me ask you this.....How are you going to be using your firehammer ? OFF/Road
or On ?Road?.......The most...If on road you may want to consider termac tire's for
asphalt....Yes you have to buy wheel adapters.. rims...bead locks...foam inserts..or you can make your own foam inserts...cheap..from those pool things..water noodles....ask team chrome about making them...it is cheap and easy to do......
Now as to the HostileAT tires I am using..there are real close too the size of the firehammer tires...........What ever you do for wheels and tires it will cost some money....
there is not really much for choice for firehammer wheels and tires...unless you stay with FG for the square drive....FG monster tires...FG mader road tires..FG Buggy tires....
...........as to your question on the baja wheels & rib tires..that is what I have...
.........As kypt says you will lose some top end speed but not much....Slawhammer

http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.5853/.f How well will these hook up on pavement? and do you have any pics of your ride with them on?
hey gregg.. those badlands are good. but if you plan on doing ANY ashpalt running they wont last but 2 tanks max. they will were out very fast. if you want something that can go both ways, go back to the hostil a/t's or the excavaters. the hostil a/t's were built to outlast anything and thats why they are also good on the pavement. once you start looking into the hpi tires you realize just how many there are.. its alot to choose from and becouse its so expensive, picking the wrong tire really sucks..

I am using the baja super star wheel black 120mmx70mm rear...Hostile AT tires & red bead locks for my color choice.....It may be best to use the same for the front as well...
that way they will be all the same and then you can rotate your tires as they ware....
Those tires ware good and are super off road for traction....If you don't get on the TX
trigger very hard for on road to take off...they are great as well...If you get on the TX trigger hard for take off from a stop you may just spin the tires.....CSP runs Hostile AT's
he can tell ya how good those tires are.....Slawhammer
