first big project please help

i give up. i got it running for like 4 seconds the dies and wont start up so i kept messing with the carbs and nothing. so i took the carb off and took some carb cleaner and cleaned the carb but still nothing. then i freind had the great idea to hook my impact to the motor to turn it over quicker to start it but it tighted the bolt under the pull cord thing and know after i loosened the bolt back up its making a grinding noise and its hard to pull.. ill never let that guy touch my car again
but now i don't know what to do so someone help me please i need a step by step or a walk through to fix this. the hobby shop told me to bring it to them but the labor is 45 an hour and he said it would be about 3 hours work to completly tear down and rebuilt the car but i say forget that im a tech. for goodyear and im extremly mechanically inclined so i know i can do it my self with some help so someone help me please what should i do? what should i be looking for with the noise? also cant i just put a weedwacker motor on it i got some professional lawn equiptment and would love to hook my weedwacker to this truck!!!!:helpsmilie:

Hey, you may be able to find a manual on your motor, or ask in the forums, about base settings of your carb. Also see if you have a local small engine repair shop (Lawnmowers weedeaters etc,) that could take a look at your motor. Just take it out and take it to them and maybe they can help.
