My first hobby quality RC car was a hornet, but I was hooked by the first toy car I got back in 77. They used to sell a little black TA at Sears, I just couldn't live without it after watching Smokey and the Bandit.lol I still have my first Nitro buggy, a Kyosho Sandmaster, still got the box and all the stuff that came with it too.

Tamiya Grasshopper back in early 90's first nitro was the Kyosho Sandmaster in the mid 90's and first gas in 2002 an FG.

My first rc was a Kyosho ST of some sort. Almost around 20 years ago I think, I was about 9-10 years old. I remember I was so sad, as it didn't have a real car fuel cap, filling it like a 1/1 car, and it didn't have a ignition key like the real cars had. I was waaaaaaay out there, and had NO clue to what a nitro engine rc was all about.
But my older brother, who also was new to this, walked me through it as he learned it himself. I newe really got the hang of nitro engines and today I don't want anything to do with them. I run brushless in my planes, helis and cars, except for my 1/6 FG MT.
