I ran my MT for the first time today and I had two issues. The first is that

the rubber grommet on the fuel tank leaks. It seams like a lot too. The

previous owner installed the upgrade kit so I think it's new. Can't figure out

how to stop the leak.

Second problem is that my shock shaft broke right at the threads. I wasn't

even off-roading. It broke going up and down the street during tuning. It

was probably worn already. Do I have to buy the complete shock or do they

sell the shafts alone?

I drove for about ten minutes but lost a lot of fuel because of the leak:mad:.

The truck ran well despite using the stock exhaust can.

I'm pretty upset that after a month of waiting and making sure everything

was set right now the truck is broken until I get some cash for the parts...

Bad luck I guess....

If you guys have any ideas how to solve the leak issue let me know...thanks

Not sure about the tank cap. I would check it to make sure everything is there and check the tank neck to make sure its not cracked. Its not normal for it to leak. Good news for you on the shock shafts. I just got some for spares (parts 50122 and 50121) from rob they are 1mm thicker than the stock shafts on mine! My stock shafts measure 4mm and the ones I ordered measure 5mm. I have never broken any, I only wanted spares on hand but now Im thinking for under $20 I might as well upgrade all 4 corners.

Mine leaked so I put some Dow 55 on it to help create a better seal to the tank. It still leaks a little but nothing like it did before.

clean the tank reall good and shoe goo around that seal and under it. just let the goo completely dry before using it
Might be a dumb question but what is shoe goo?

I found the grommets leak if they've been removed and then reused....both my tanks leaked after i changed clunks...I was lucky and had 2 new ones from previous upgrade kits...put those in and no more leaks
I noticed the same thing when removing mine. I think they just get stretched out.

I found another grommet in my parts bag that looks pretty new.

I measured both grommets with my calipers and the one that leaks

is just over 17mm. The new one is almost 19mm. The hole in the gas

tank is about 18.5mm. So that means the one it had installed was too

small for the tank, weird.

Ordered the shock shaft from Rampagehopups.com. Should be here in a day or two. :)

Thanks Rob..
