Hi, I thought I would throw this out to yourselves, to help me understand the statement I have been told about the tyres on the Mutilator I have just purchased.

I have noticed that all tyres have very good treads still, but they seem to be flat and don't have any air in them. I have been told that these are special tyres that do not require air and there there to soften and absorb the bumps when hit.
Is this correct????:o

Hi Chris,
I'm not familiar with the Mutilator, but generally all wheel / tyre combinations are simply the wheel, with a deep groove on either side, into which is inserted the edging or bead of the tyre, normally a tight fit - like on 1:1 cars.

All are advised to be fitted with an insert, which is generally foam, which assists in absorbing the 'hits'.

All wheels generally have a couple of holes in them, to permit the air to exit during a heavy landing, and to refill.

There are 2 types of fitting onto the wheel; gluing using superglue or 'beadlock' whereby a ring is screwed onto the inserted tyre to hold it in place.

MCD did have inflatable tyres on some of their previous Monster Trucks, but this has been discontinued.

The foams that go in the tires come in different hardness. I personally have never seen tries on large scale that are glued but all my 1/8 scale are glued. Not saying they do not make them I just have never seen them. I keep all my RC vehicles on stands to keep from getting flat spots on the tires when I am not running them.

the tires that come stock on the nutech Thunder bolt-2/ and the nutech sand storm are are glued from the factory, but they have the "blue" type proline foams inside. well mine did , mine came unglued that How I found out:p:p
