Took a hard sideways flip, now it won't start.

Nothing's broken. Have spark and fuel in the primer bulb and fuel line. Good compression.

I took off the yellow fuel line and when I press the primer fuel comes out of the nipple, is this normal?

Is there a reed valve I could have broken?

Any ideas? thanks.

try changing the plug 1st mate. even tho you got a spark it may not be strong enough

Thanks dwarfy, Tried a new plug yesterday. It has spark, maybe not as strong as I'd like, but seems good enough.

I tried pouring fuel on the filter and down the carb throat.

I guess there's not a reed valve?

I read back about 15 pages on the forum, and found the yellow fuel line is the return line so it's normal for fuel to squirt out that nipple when I press the primer.

Right after it flipped it died. I tried the starter rope and it was kind of slack for a few pulls. Would only engage with the rope about 3/4 of the way out. But after a few pulls that sorted out. Now the starter rope works normally, but makes me think it took a hit in the starter area, which I know the magneto is under.

Wonder if the spark isn't strong enough now? I have an adjustable timing screw, so I loosened it and moved it around a little, and the coil and wire looks ok.

Not sure what to do next.

I put a brand new plug in there already after the flip. Still wouldn't start.

+1 sounds like a coil problem I have also seen the kill switches cause troubles....also make sure the hole in the gas cap is still vented and not clogged with dirt from the crash..

I had a roll & it wouldnt start again. After hours of trying it turned out it was the kill switch that was stuck in. Freed it up & started 1st time. Might be worth a look

Thanks mates, I'll take a look at the coil, Looks like I have to take the side bumper off the frame to get to the starter cover screws. Hopefully get to it tomorrow.

The piston ring was stuck. The cylinder was in good shape though. So I freed up the ring and filed the groove a little. Now it runs fine.
