Thankfully we live on top of the Pennines where the river Irwell starts so are ok but 3 miles down hill into the town it is closed off from all sides. My sis has been down with the camera and the shops and businesses are flooded, pubs are closed & under water and the police have closed the place down. Its also flooded areas further down the river and the olympic torch is supposed to be coming our way tomorrow!! They will need a feckin boat at this rate!!
 
mate you was lucky some people have lost everything they own due to flooding,,its a joke weve still got a hose pipe ban down here its pissed it down since they placed the ban

it worries me as I am in one of the lowest areas of the town...and we are in a bit of a dip here....so far so good though...hope things dry out for you soon...

Spoke to a mate on the site last nite and he said exactly the same!! Roads were all open again this morning but there is plenty of debris left behind.
