I had the common problem of my pull start breaking yesterday. After removal of the housing, i realised that i can move my flywheel in and out around 1-2 mm. Is this normal or is something going knackered. Engine is running sweet as a nut so seems odd?? Have checked that flywheel centre nut it tight.

I am very worried. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
maybe time for a rebuild new bottom end bearings i not sure on this but i think its up and down movment that you have to worry about but worst case rebuild it new bearings head kit you may even be able to fit some shims
 
I wouldnt worry about the in & out movement so long as it is not excessive. It cant run too tight or the friction would create too much localised heat and fook the bearings. As said up & down movement will mean bearings are shot.
