So I keep telling myself I knew the stock electronics were garbage when I bought this thing...but damn.

So after the unboxing, put half a tank thru it and it the stock steering servo burnt up and took the receiver with it.

sent it in to redcat, got a new servo and receiver. Put the new parts in along with a new HD switch, and a y-harness to power the steering servo directly.

1/4 tank later and this is what i get

So either these servos are junk or the first one was junk and the second one couldn't take 6v.

So I guess i'll be putting the rampage on paper weight duty till i can get a new steering servo. I've read the tower hobbies ts-80 is the same as the hs-805 but cheaper. so i'll be trying that out.

Maybe i'll actually finish this first tank of gas of some day

I have worn a few motors out. I took them apart like you and found mini-t sized motors with plastic bushings. The bushings wore out on mine so the armature of the motor was loose. I even bought the GWS labeled ones and had the same results. The motors had more winds than a mini-t but same sized cans.

Yep I learned too. Im gioing on my second year with digital large scale hitec. I went through 3 cheapies at $30-35 each before I said enough.
