I went out with my Smartech One that I bought second hand lately for little to no money.
I brought it into good shape by now but am battling some idle issues when it is warm. It tends to go out after quick acceleration bursts if I don't apply throttle quick enough eventhough idle seems fine otherwise. Settings can't be that far of because it goes like stink otherwise.
Today I kept fiddling ant at some point it started to hesitate when applying throttle. I thought it is too lean and started fiddling with the carb. It went out. Had a hard time starting it. Put the plug out and so on. At some point it ran again but very lean and strange.
At some point after some cursing i thougth hey the glass of the carb is empty. Lets pump some gas into this thing. I pump and pump and pump but nothing happenes.
At this point it started to dawn on me that this thing - other than every other RC vehicle I own does not run on batteries. Yes the sound and the smell and the smoke kind of gave it away but I did not come to my mind that this might eventually run out of gas.
Opened up the tank and - you might've guess it by now - there was not a drop pf gas left in it.
Since I have no brought my canister with me that was the end of that session. I went home with a messed up carb setting because of my fiddling and a feeling that I have to learn a lot about gas powered cars still. If anyone smiled when reading this I achived my goal. I sure did after opening up the gas tank.
