So the stock receiver took a dump on me today. s called redcat and they are taking care of it.

So i figured i would take the radio system from my HPI Blitz and threw it in there.

turned on the tx and then the receiver and the servos started glitching and then both went max throw and then the hpi receiver overheated and burned up.

What is going on? is a mad servo frying these receivers?

could a servo somehow pull enough amps to overload a receiver. My stock receiver quit working during a powerslide with the wheel centered. so i was thinking if the servo was trying to hold the wheels centered and something tried to move the wheels, could that translate back to the servo motor to pull more amps than the receiver could supply?

and my second receiver went up a few seconds after i turned on the power.

I have one more radio and receiver from an old smartech truck i have. i was going to pull both servos out of the tt and set it up on my bench and plug one in at a time. any ideas or thoughts. i don't want to get this new receiver and have it fry as soon as i plug it in.

Happen to me, Replace the On\off switch, There not good quality from factory, Mine Ended up taking out my RX, Battery, and steering servo, so yeah replace it ASAP

Like rob said the steering servo can over heat the on\off switch and cause a short , so replace the on\off switch harness, or make your own, I got one on ebay i think it was off a baja for like 5 buck

Mine melted the wires going to the reciver and shorted out, causing the battery to fry and the reciver and the servos both, that switch cause me to loose all my goodies but you live you learn By a new switch lol

I figured it out. the steering servo is fried. tried a 3rd receiver today, battery plugged straight in to the rx, and as soon as i pluged in the servo it once again started to move to full CCW. unplugged the servo before it hit the stops and the rx was already overheating and smoking a little.

Sending both into redcat today. I'll be getting a new switch anyways
