I have a Fg stadium jeep (love it). It doesn't stop all that well now. I was considering getting some front brakes but they are very $$$. Are they worth it?

The front brakes are well worth it. If you put a pipe on your truck or anything else to increase the speed, the brakes are pretty much required to help stop the truck. Check ebay for some good deals on fg parts.

OK....so front brakes it is! But...........what kind? Are the FG cable brakes good or should I step up and go for the hydros? Thoughts????

Also, what do you guys think it should cost? I don't want to pay to much! :) cable vs. hydros????? And yes, I do have a pipe already. Got my truck at 46mph on radar! :)

Im not willing to spend $400 on brakes! I guess that means it's cable brakes. Are the FG cable brakes good? What servo would you recommend?

alloy uprights are not required or is a third servo. I have had front and rear cable brakes on my Monster Beetle for over three years running both off of one hitec 645MG servo. This is with a esp ported 27cc engine that makes my MB a rocket. I have never had a stop issue with using one servo. Most of the pressure from the brakes is on the cables, not so much the servo, if it is set up right.

check out ebay.co.uk under fg for 2nd hand hydros, if you ask nicely yhe seller will often ship overseas, I got fr and rear kpd mk3's for less than 1/2 price of new ones...$325.
A set of used fronts are usually about $150 for magura, kpd, lauterbacher etc.

I have FG Cable breaks all around on my MB Pro what I find is the stud that holds the break pad to the uprite breaks off due to rocks hitting it and getting jammed inthe rim, all I have done is just use a hardened cap head bolt instead of the stud, It has worked fine for me. I set the clearance and blue loctite the Caphead bolt and let dry.

I haven't heard on any one else having this problem, so it must be just me and all the gravel around me.

I ordered a set of tuning brakes from FG. Found them on ebay for $140.00. Thanks for everybody's help. I'm sure when I get them I will have questions during the install! :)

I used the Hitec 645MG for throttle/brake. You do not need an additional servo for the brakes.

true
but it is way easier to set your bias with a 3 channel remote and seperate front barke servo , just set-up them so they have equal pressure and then adjust the bias on the fly from the hand set .. and as they strecth which they do just increase ..
good luck . it is a good feeling nowing that your machine can stop fast

If you have a three channel open and it allows to install the third servo I would do that. This way you can crank the servo hard without worry of burn out and it being part of the throttle linkage. It is not needed but a good idea.

Here are the uprights you will need for the FGMT:

Here is a tubing mod I would recommend:

Don't forget you will need to order the MT uprights or they will stay in the bag!:crying:
