Front Brakes?

I think you can't beat a bit of extra stopping power, better control too with brakes on the front, it helps stop the rear from kicking out etc. A great upgrade I would say.

Just my 2cents :-)

i fitted front cable discs to a few of my FG's (still toying with fitting them to the baja yet) but once you get them biting just right in relation to the rear brake, they're pretty effective.

My choice would be - HARM mecatek brakes with carbon fibre discs & tool steel pads on the front and layshaft brake for the rear operated with quality servos - Futaba s9351 or the new futaba brushless range (not sure of the number but it's a 30kg servo).

I have just built the new FG Leopard 2 for this seasons racing and used the magura hydraulic brakes front and rear that come with the kit but I will be getting the mod kit that allows the use of a layshaft brake when it eventually comes into production.

I think cable brakes are good for straight line stopping but when you brake round corners I have noticed they tend to go out of balance.
