It has been butt bitting cold here so i had lots of time in my hand. I decided to make a more sturdy front bumper for the FH MT. I had a piece of 1/8 (3mm) inch thick alumium plate that I salvaged from an old piece of electronic.

I also added a center brace for additional strength. That piece was brough from Home Depot for a buck.

The entire project took 4 hours so it was not that bad. If you like more detail on how to do it, let me know.

I have made a similar bumper out of 1/4 inch Lexan (poly carbonate) but I broke it on the first ride due to the cold.

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bumper is solid.
I was at a park last week and the car was 75-80 yards away so I did not have a good dept perception. I hit a 55 gallon steel drum trash barrel. From the distance, I saw the car bounce back and the barrel wobble. I ran toward the car expecting the worst. The car was fine and I moved the barrel 5-6 inches.

It looks crude. I need to drill a few holes to make it looks better.
