My Front center diff cup has been beaten to death by dogbone pins....

A while ago I ordered part # 07146 Center Drive Cup 2p

Finally installed it, took it for a run and the front dogbone dropped out...

Some closer inspection reveals that my original front cup is 26.06mm tall and the part 07146 is 24.06mm tall...

those 2mm are enough to drop the bone out

I looked at the other center cups and they all appear to be 24mm and only my front one was 26mm???

I looked on RedCat site parts manual list for XBE and found part # 710022 ...Center Dogbone Joint cup

so I'm looking for the differnece between part # 07146 and part # 710022

or any info as to what happened....dogbone I believe is stock @ 128mm

Temporarily I shimmed it out with a 1.7mm washer (8mm hole) but the grub screw doesn't exactly line up with the 'flat'

As always, any insight is appreciated...

That's interesting. Now I want to go take a look at all of them.

Have you tried inserting a piece of fuel line in both cups to keep the dogbone centered. It might get you by.

Thanks RCDad, I'd really appreciate you looking at yours...The cup itself is the same length, it's the 'stem' of the cup that's 2mm longer. (easier to eyeball)

I have put a 1.7 mm washer and I think It'll be fine (raining today) but I still would like to know what the differnece between part # 07146 and part # 710022 is...I can't find part 710022 mentioned anywhere in manuals...just at the end in the parts area??? I hoping it's the 2mm longer cup i'm looking for ...

Sounds like it, my mate came accross the same problem......!!!!! Hence why we put the shim under the front of 7075's diff case.
Thanks, but I'm not seeing how raising the diff case is going to move the cup closer to the center..?? can you give me a little more info.... :o

Holy Crap!!!! Thanks Dave, you da man....

I didn't even think to look at my MT!...They will definitely be 8mm bore so it will work!!!!Joy!

The question still remains as to why mine and BigFol's mate have a longer cup up front....

I actually called Redcat Tech support last night, and they had no idea why mine was longer...he measured the one they had and they were all 24mm *(Big surprise there)

We put a shim under the diff many due to the angle of the dog bone, but the cup was shorter on the front than the back, so we swapped them around, so the dog bone wouldn't fall out. Nice find with the MT part number.....
