Just wanted to let people know. Was out with a mate who runs a king kong. We were doing some mild jumping on the weekend, wouldnt be any heigher than waist height. Landed front heavy on one, didnt break anything but noticed the front of the chassis had bent!

We straightened it out ok but bit of a worry it would bend with such mild jumping.

I almost bought a king kong a few years back when i got into 1/5 scale rc. How did you get it bent back and whats it made of?

its just a alloy chassis plate, completley flat, no where near as thick as the one on my FG.

its covered in carbon fibre look alike stuff, just put it against the bench and pushed, it straightened, are some creases on the carbon fibre crap, just like sticky wall paper stuff.

Man that sound cheap. I remember i jumped my fg MT off a wall that was taller than me and i'm 6'4 and it never hurt anything....But i only did it once..lol:p

Just make some alloy supports for the areas that may bend. The Marder, Bajas and others have a weak tip in the front for bending too. People have just made or produced alloy adapters or supports to keep them from bending.:)

thats what he will end up having to do coz he wants to jump it just about every time he takes it out. prob is its already pretty heavy and the engine aint that special so you have to throw a fair few dollars at it from the get go, which mean you really should weigh up to go one of these and modify it or get pay the extra from the start and get a Nutech or Rampage or better yet a FG (in my opinion anyway)

bolt some solid rails down the sides of the chassis. some square solid stock. drill through the chassis and stock and bolt it on. I had an on road chassis this was done to and it was solid as hell

I have a FS KING KONG aswell, I accidently ran into a friends legs while doing a speed run,
Hit his ankles at 38Mph, and bend the front chassis.

Looking to get a replacement chassis, anybody know where I can get one cheap and good quality ..

oversize rc have some realy cheap ATM but they are horrible to deal with, check this forum some horrible stories floating around. don't buy from them unless you can visit their shop in person, never online.
