Well..... she died today :( Need to buy a new engine. Well I'm sure she's dead. When I was out bashing the engine just stopped and when I went to start it again the pull start won't move. It's like there's something jamming it.

I think it's dead, what does everyone else think?

Now, with the Zen engine what mods do I have to do to the drive shaft and anything else to make it fit in the FSMT? and is the Zenoah G270 engine too much for the stock diffs?

With the Zenoah G270 engine, does that mean I need a new pipe to or will the FS pipe do for now?

Cheers.

take a look around the flywheel, you might have just picked up a pebble

I pulled the old engine out and removed the head and the bore has been scored and there was a few very small pieces of metal in there to. I tried to move the flywheel and it was jammed. I used a little force it freed up and spat out what looks like the remants of a washer or bearing case.
New engine has just been bought :)

I'll have to use the HPI 5T for the weekend ;)

I started the MCD in my workshop this morning and give the throttle a few blips ,the engine was running sweet. I went into my house to get a coffee and when i came back out the engine had stopped? I tried to start it again but it wasn't having any of it so I started to strip it down.when I pulled the head off it(Oo-er! ) I noticed the small C-clip that holds the wrist pin had disintergrated taking the ring ,bore and piston with it! There was such a gouge in it its now rendered un-usable But....that given me the perfect reason to put my 29cc head on So I'm just waiting for the rain to stop and take it out in the close and give it a good setting up!.

Here,it was the same for me in my MCD Rally! If you need more info check the Rally thread out under Voo2doo. If it is throw ya top end away ,its knackered!

Done and done. Just bought a Zenoah G270. Should fit with a little or no mods. Will the diffs in the FS stand up to the power of the Zen?

that's one thing you don't have to worry about mucker ive fitted plenty off the G270 engine in these cars and no problems at all you can put just about any size in you want but the best is just a stock zen with a tuned pipe good carb with no choke and your off but i should say if your a basher then go stock that's what i do never real bothered with all these tuned engines for bashing

Have you had any problems with crank bearings, I seem to remember reading somewhere they didn't last that long initially.

no smudger no problems there at all but i think you are talking about the cy engines they have a problems with their crank bearings that's why i stay with zen they are the best stock engines on the market

Yep it was the 4 bolt mod that was steering me towards getting the RR kit with no engine and adding the G270 myself
