My friend got a clone, FS Buggy. I'm with my FG and Zenoah ESP 30.5 engine and I can not outrun him! At the moment my FG are still setup with 48/16 gearing, what the FS comes with stock I do not know. i can't wait to get my 44/20 gears installed again!

that would be the only area the FS matches the FG

the FS (sorry to all FS owners) is by far the worst large scale rc i have ever come accross. swing arms are made of butter, diff pins are just rubbish, standing bearings are crap.

my close mate has a FS and he has been through 9 rear diffs! and at least 3 sets of swing arms. Trust me when I say its never been bashed hard, never ever been jumped about waist height!

Same thing with his, he has already fixed the diff two times, and only had the FS for about 2 months and 1 tank, hahaha
Now it has a "Miller diff", in other words he has welded the diff ;)

Yesterday both the rear wheels EXPLODED during a "high speed" run!
If it was me I would have saved what could be saved and sold it in parts!

First post says FS Buggy ;)
This was my mates FS Buggy wheels.
My FG is...wait for it....AWESOME ;)

And one more thing, don't answer my posts Ass(ad), you don't have any thing to share that I'm interested in reading!

I don't see whats so bad about the FS clones... I picked up one for £150 from SMC (my local model shop) and its fantastic! Ive given it one hell of a beating but it keeps on going. The only thing ive had any problems with is one of my rear wheels stripped a fitting, and the shocks where a bit worn out. You do get what you pay for, and theres a few things to consider, the FG is without a doubt well built and can take a beating, but if your a smooth driver and able to keep it away from imovable objects and on its wheels then your laughing. It may be cheap but its not ideal for beginners.
Another thing to consider with the FS Marder clone is its based off a buggy, but it comes fitted with much larger wheels which in turn put a lot lore stress on the sus components.

Regarding speed difference, the FS (Shengqi) do seem to be a little lighter. Mine is on par with my mates HPI Baja, tho i do seem to have a lot more low down torque.

I can only comment on what I see with my friends FS, and it sucks big time!
He only drives it around on a flat gravel parking lot. He has soon replaced every FS part with....you guessed it, new FS parts, and it keeps on breaking! Now the engine is on it's way out....:(

If your that smooth a driver that you keep this POS working, you must only do low speed drive-bys.

reminds me of my hpi baja only i replaced the parts that failed with aftermarket and now it seems to be just fine, to bad it took over 2k in aftermarket parts though (and yes another package shipped from DDM today to fix a failure i had with my brakes)

Low speed drive by's, pfffft! Far from it my friend. Why replace parts with fs parts when fg parts are available... I am however a mechanic and good at spotting things before they break.

Apart from the carb, I have had no major problems with my FG MT. It sure can take a beating :) I wouldn't trade it for any other brand!

No, it's not an FG clone :)
