Does oil/fuel residue mean the carbs are set too rich? It's not dripping or running off the body. Just enough to wipe off.

that is normal on two stroke engines where you have to mix oil and gas on the same fuel, now, if it is much more than some simple sputtering you might want to make sure the oil/gas mixture is right and check the spark plug to determine whether you need to make air/fuel mixture leaner or richer at the carburetor.

Ya it's pretty common if your running a stock exhaust that doesn't exit the body. I can hold my hand in front of my exhaust and after 10 seconds I'd have oil specks on it.

It doesn't seem to lack power, and starts well every time. The gas/oil residue is not running off the body . spark plug doesn't look fouled or look like its been running hot.
