I just picked up a used X4. Everything looked great. I charged up the batteries , gassed it up. It seemed to run great, but I noticed I was losing gas while turning the car. I found a big hole in the gas tank right under the exhaust pipe. I guess the pipe got too hot, and melted a hole in the tank. The car came with an O'neils 27.2 motor with a VRC pipe. I just ordered a new tank, but is there anything I can do to prevent another hole in the fuel tank? Thanks for the help.

As Kieth said ,the new tank helps ,well sloped corner , you cab also
cover the tank corner with gold heat tape , another way is get about
a foot of Exhaust Wrap fold into three ans screw it to the open lug hole
on the side pod ,laying the heat pad across the tank corner under the pipe ,
you can just see it on one of these pics . HH

OK, so I just picked up a new fuel tank. I've put some heat shield tape on the tank where it would likely meet up with the exhaust pipe, and I've bought some exhaust pipe wrap to put around the pipe. Now I'm trying to swap tanks, but I can't seem to pull the rear diff assembly out because I think there are 2 screws that are stripped. They are the 2 forward most screws that attach to the chassis on the bottom. They just spin around when I try to remove them, but they're still flush with the chassis, so I can't pry them out. Any suggestions? I really want to get this thing running. Thanks for any help you can provide
