Just picked up my 3rd RedCat, Its a Hurricane xte. I had just a quick question about charging the lipos. I was wondering how many volts each pack should be reading on my meter when they are fully charged? I don't want to over charge them with the charger they give you. Thanks in advance..

Get a charger that has LiPo balancing and follow the chargers instructions. And a LiPo charging sack. LiPo cells will catch fire if over charged or have any physical damage.

NEVER USE A NiCAD/NiMH CHARGER ON A LiPo BATTERY

Well thanks for the heads up. But my question is what should the volt be reading on my meter? Im using the stock charger that came with the car untill I can get a good charger..Its says 20c 3600mah 7.4v on the item discription so is that 7.4v per pack? Thanks

when fully charged a 7.4 pack will normally be over 8 volts. each cell in a lipo pack is rated as 3.7 volts thats why lipo's are always multiples of that number 7.4 11.1 14.4 .

do yourself a favor take a couple minutes and read this page and watch the videos.

you'll find lots of good lipo info there. i know after seeing a couple of videos where the batteries turn into rockets i myself am a lot more careful with them. have fun and be safe. you can't learn too much about these things.

full charge volts??

A fully charged lipo is 4.2 volts per cell. Middle of the road, or storage voltage is 3.7 and you never want to pull them down below about 3.2, but 3.4 is safer. So in your case, your two cell will be 8.4 fully charged and 6.8 when you finish using it.

Do yourself a big favour and get a good lipo charger as it will greatly speed up your charge time. The little wall plug factory charger will take all day on a battery, where a good one will safely charge them in about forty five minutes.
