Didn't have that problem when I was blasting around in the snow and ice - see 'Thunder in the Snow'.
It was like blasting and bashing in a car wash!!
All I had to do was dry and check out bearings ... truck looked cleaner than ever

damn ive never seen anything like that! have you covered the side plates or has mud just filled it up?

Nope just a back plate. The back plates keep a ton of crap from entering the inside. I made my own and would never run without them.
