I went to use my girls car the other day to take the 1/5 scale out.I pressed the button on the fob and the central didnt work? So i manually opened the door and unlocked the bonnet, i had a look at the fuses and there wasnt one that was blown so I had a look at the fuse board behind the glove box ( Its a Ford Focus Estate Ghia ) And there was not one blownthere either,so I phoned Fords and they quoted me a bill of £402.32 for the repair!!!!:helpsmilie: £300.00 of that was for the KEY!!! and the rest was to re-programme it! Even the recepsionist was laughing when she told me the price:blush: She said to re-programme the key was a half hour job,in fact you can do it in 30 seconds ( good old Ford eh!) So I thought I wasnt going to pay that and logged on to a forum called 'Focushacks' and there were a poop load of people with the same problem.
At the end of the page a bloke put the solution up,there is a fuse called No63 but the fuse board only goes to No62??? In the solution the fella said to unscrew the board and remove it from the bulk head ,then turn it around ( it was fiddlie) and voila ! fuse 63,its on the back of the board. You would never find it in a million years!
So for the sake of 5 mins on the net I saved myself £400.00.
Just goes to show how much manufacturers are making on repairs!!
