Im really really thinking about nuying me a Maverick/Rampage MT...but the main thing keeping me from it is the fact that i live in an apartment and have no real place to work on the car and store it other than inside the apartment...and my gf would kill me if the whole apartment would smell of gasoline...

So im kinda wondering how much it actually smells or if there is something you can do about it to be able to work on it inside and store it?

I am currently in a 1 BR with my GF and I keep my MT pretty clean. I have had a half to full tank with truck on my work table in the corner many times and Gas smell is never an issue. (it's sitting over there right now with full tank) If I need to work on the carb, I take extra caution to remove lines by pinching with mini vice grips and venting cap to drain lines when pulling them off. (if you need to just replace gaskets somewhere along the carb chain, leave the fuel lines attached to it, it will not loose a drop of gas)

the problem I have is leaving my work table a mess of tools etc., that's when I get bitched at...lol

I keep mine under a desk in my house and the only time I had an issue was right after a run and that was exhaust smell. Before I bring it in I let it cool down.

They really don't smell much. It's good to run them dry evey run. As long as there's no liquid fuel there is not much smell. If you store it in a plastic bag you will eliminate any odor.

The only issue I had was when I forgot to vent the gas cap before pinching and pulling off the return line...good thing the little woman wasn't home, sprayed bit of gas all over me and table...cleaned it up, sprayed some air freshener...she never knew... ;)

Ok...really good to know...then i have nothing to worry about more or less...cheers alot guys...you made my day :D

don't know if they market this in sweden but it`s called febreze here stateside.Works wounderbar. I have made a lot of smelly messes and used this stuff and my wife never smelled anything.

Either she never smelled it, or she smelled it but is waiting to bring it up at a later date.

When you store the truck, plug the exhaust and stuff a rag in the fuel tank. That's what I do. Or you could run Coleman fuel, instead of pump gas. Doesn't stink up the house.
