hi have been reading through forums about the cover over the gears, some folk say to drill holes in it for cooling which makes sense and some folk say not to cause sand and dirt will get in and wreck the gears which makes sense too, so what is the best option? i am running the stock plastic gears that it came with out of the box eventually i will upgrade to the steel ones i have the aluminium gear plate coming and a cpi pipe so probably next month will get the gears. thanks

Some people have chosen to dremel a large opening (or multiple openings) and then protect those openings with a sacrificial outerwear cover (cut to fit, glue in with shoe goo, or similar adhesive)
