Ok... so I was at the skate park the other day making my dune runner do things that I probably should have used a 10th scale for. None of my crazy stunts seemed to have harmed her, but at the end of the day I ran into a cement step pretty good. Screwed my adjustment on my throttle servo, bent the front of the frame (a little) and broke my gear cover.

My question is this- for folks running the gears- do you think it is ok to go without the cover or should I replace it? The gears are protected by the plastic covers on the side of the frame, but that does nothing for dirt and rocks.

As long as you have the steel gears you are fine. I never ran with the gear cover on my MT and that doesn't have the side guards.
