I bought my Rampage MT from a guy who did a bunch of upgrades, but never ran it. First thing I noticed is the drivetrain binds. It has metal gears and aluminum gear plate. Well I took it apart today and found The problem is within the mesh between th 35T and 25T gears. I did my research and seems this is the right gear combination for the MT, but seems too tight when I attempt to assemble it. It gets tighter at one part of the rotation more than the rest (about 1/3 of the rotation) but seems too tight all the way around too. I'm quite sure it's the gear set from DDM. http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.6295/.f

Any thoughts?

No they aren't. I can see the 35t has a bit of runout. Not sure if the aluminum block is the cause or not...

I've cleaned up one of my gears with a cutoff wheel to help center it. and it works great
Sono hardened layer to worry about? I was thinking if I did that they might fail prematurely.
