i have read most the posts on here about filling the diff halfway over the spider gears that must be with it on end looking form the drive cup i am guessing. the other question i had was if there is any grease or oil i can run one the ring and pinion gears in the front and rear there was a little grease in the case but most of that was thrown right off inside the case thanks for all the great help

thats about it i just use high temp wheel bearing grease, since the case halfs are not a perfect seal to run liquids in them, but the grease works fine it you run alot then add a little more every so often. hope that helps you.

yeah helps alot just got the front apart and just waiting on the gear oil to come in all cleaned and maybe tear apart the rear tomorrow and get that cleaned is there and length of time you should change the gear oil like after an few gallons threw or something thanks again

normally i only change mine if i brake something in the diff, lol. and the gears inside really don't wear, they last very well. i have only changed mine 3 times in the last two years, and two of those times were for big races.

a bit irrelevant question

what is the best way to clean the gears from the silicon oil.

i tried fuel that works for petroleum lubricants but not for silicon products.

I wipe what I can with rags, then I've used Orange pumis hand cleaner that worked well.

I would venture a guess that any decent Kitchen de-greaser should work as well.

yeah buy some dawn dish soap, the factory diff oil is some weird stuff to work with but the dish soap does the job,lol..

Try using brake cleaner. That's what I use whenever I change the gear oil on my F150 diffs. It Strips off tough oils pretty well. Don't spray it on plastics though I wouldnt know what it would do.
