On the new multi ratio belt drive kit.what's the ratio on the pulley's theres no stamping on them.i want to be able to keep track of all the gearing changes....thanx Ildy....
 
Largest Pulley .9:1 a little higher than 31-29 gears

Medium Pulley 1:1 equal to 30-30 gears (great for the XT with a pipe & 8k clutch)

Smallest Pulley 1.25:1 a little lower than 27-33 gears (this should be great for any MT with a pipe and 8K clutch)

Thanx... That's what i needed...rc dad while i got ur ear u think i'll see that clutch bell and lay shaft this week???
 
Yes. I sent it out the next morning. The Midwest storm damage has slowed down a lot of shipping.

I edited the ratio post. On those kits the pulleys on the clutch shaft interchange. Smaller = a higher ratio.
 
To go higher, for example the .7:1 the pulley on the brake shaft will be smaller.

RCDAD so small is now my speed pulley? The ratio would be .9:1=31-29

And the large pulley is my torque pulley ratio 1.25:1=37-33

And the med stays the same at 1:1 =30-30

Is the correct gear ratios now? Thanx Ildy...
 
It depends which pulley we are talking about.

If the pulley is larger on the clutch bell then the pulley on the lay shaft, the ratio is taller. It will give more top speed.

If the pulley is smaller on the clutch bell than the pulley on the lay shaft, it is a shorter ratio and a lower gear ratio. It will give more torque and bottom end.

The pullies that came in the bag.i never touched the pullies on the gear plate.so i put the plate on and the pullies that run off the clutch bell are interchangeable.when i install the 3different pullies on the clutch side will i get the ratios i listed?
 
Yes. The kit comes with one lay shaft pulley and three different sized clutch bell pulleys.
 
That i know.when i first ask what the ratio was u gave me the ratios.then u said it was opposite because of the clutch bell.pulley.so my ? Is with the gear plate on the mt and install one of the three pullies on the clutch bell whats my ratio with each pulley knowing that the med. Pulley is 30/30 whats my ratios?is big my speed pulley or torque pulley.i'm runnin mt tires...
