Hello everyone


Looking to find a good solution to my gear set.


My stock set exploded with the stock plastic gear plate.


I upgraded to the metal gear plate and the stern belt drive system.


Well that just took a crap today. I haven't really had time to investigate however the idler pulley is all wobbley.


I am looking for the best gear setup as I'm getting sick of replacing crap. Suggestions?
 
I had best results with the belt drive, A binding of the brakes can cause issues.

There are two set screws on the mount for the center pinion to adjust brake shoes
 
I was running the belt drive and noticed a bad wobble on the middle plastic pulley. Ripped it apart and found this. No idea how it managed to bend this.

Bearing collapsed maybe?

I'm running mine on the plastic plate.If it gives trouble I'll replace it but all good for now.

I let my son thrash mine for a tank and no probs.

I wouldn't go back to gears.
 
It was a rock. You can see by looking at the plastic pulley. It's all chewed up.

Now the issue is finding a replacement pulley and cover. I emailed STERN yesterday. Nothing as of yet.

Sounds like bad luck

Didn't you have a cover for it?
 
It broke off at all the mounting tabs.

Kind of pissing me off as the eBay guy in Germany isn't responding and I need parts.
