what options are available to lower the overall gear ratio of the rampage mt??

i know mcd has or had a 24/36 main gera setup but what about options for reducing the other 2 gears on that mount?

what about a 20/30 setup over the 25/25

as well what about the mid diff and f/r diffs??? front and rear diffs from what i can tell are 16 12 and the central diff is what 10 and 30????

mid diff is what???

and what is the standard rampage mt end gear ratio???

what i am looking for is info more then any thing i am looking to get 1/5 scale but i want to gear it low enough for some decent off roading (not full scale rock crawling) and well after trying out a 5b, 5t, tt, and a mg murader (yes i know out of those only 1 was 4wd) but there all geared imho for racing and not what my intended purpose would be.... can any one help me out? or point me in a direction other then in a circle lol

my goal would be a top speed of around 12-15mph @ full throttle if @ all possible i will most likly be running a honda gx35 (better flatter torque curve) the honda motor would get a straight pipe (gx35 is a 4stroke)

http://www.honda-engines.com/engines/gx35.htm (a straight pipe over the emissions bullshit should increase the revs by 250-300rpm+ as well as running race fuel)

yeah thats the problem of why im asking about gearing options

for everything beings that the stock gear ratio is 12.6:1

if i could get that down to 8.5:1 i wouldn't have a problem running any motor that and the gx35 clutch kicks in @ 4k rpm where as most any 2 stroke has to kick in around 6-8krpm...

i guess im not really explaining what i want ... aarg...

and my other question is how in the world did redcat come up with the "gear ratio" of 12.6:1???

i have set here for hours trying to figure it out

i mean if i dropped to a 20a/40b and 20c/30d (looking @ custom fabrication here...)

0.5 + 0.66 = 1.21 verses the stock 1.74

to achieve gearing for 12 mph i have to know how redcat calculates the overall gearing....

@ most with the transmission center diff and front and rear diffs i only come up with

(transmission)

25/35 = 0.71

25/25 = 1

CENTER DIFF

30/10 = 3

front rear diff

16/12 X 2 = 2.66 (or 1.3333 i don't know if you add the final ratio of the front and read diff together)

but thats still only a gear ratio of 6.04 or (if add front and rear diff = 7.37)

yes i understand how gear ratio is calculated .... so to achieve a speed of 12mph i would need a gear ratio of.... idk

You'r almost ok in the calculation form.

Center diff is 10/30 = 3

Rear/front diff 11/33 = 3

outer ratio 25/35 = 1.4

Inner ratio 25/25 = 1

Formula is simple, 1 X 1.4 X 3 X 3 = 12.6:1

Next time you can replace all the diff ratio by 9:1 and skip any 1:1 ratio.

1.4 X 9 = 12.6
