Hi Guys, the UK guys are really getting into upgrading our XB's now. Just had a batch of the 7075 alloy bits in from Doug and they look great.

A question that is now coming up is what gear ratios should we be running to get the best out of the new motors we are putting in, as nobody in the UK has much experience of the XB-E as it hasnt been around very long over here, so I thought I would ask you.

Some have gone for the CC1717 & CC1515 and gone up a tooth to an 11T pinion on stock wheels. They certainly do fly!

And some of us have just taken delivery today of the new Sirius 1717 1580kv motor, which is to all and purposes the same as the CC1717.

I have also upgraded to the HPI hubs and run the slightly larger Nutec Thunderbolt wheels. (hex version)

Some of us have fitted the 8400 Nano Tech batteries as well, boy do they make a difference!

What gearing and wheel setups have you guys found works well?

Cheers,

Sprig.

With that high of a KV motor and aftermarket tires you'll want to gear it 10/48 ( I'm assuming 6c's) If everything stays under 100 degree's Fahrenheit

your good. You can then try an 11t or 12t. If it runs hot go back to a smaller pinion gear.

Yeah, I've been saying that we need to gear them down for the new motors and 10/48 would make sense to me with the bigger wheels. We'll see how the other guys get on gearing them up!

I can see another Order coming on. At least I'll have some idea of how long UK Customs will sit on the box next time! Are you thinking of adding upper and lower Arms to the 7075 sales list?

No aluminum arms are planed. I like the plastic ones and the flex they provide to the suspension. I do have plans for the lower shock mount. Seems the thread in the plastic strips out easly so aluminum would make sence there.
