Dumb question, my fault though because when I disassembled the gears, I paid no attention to the way they were facing. 
Each of those square mounts that the gears slide on have a raised circular type end on it. Does that face the bearing on the gear plate or does it face the inside of the gear? Mine are facing the bearings.
