i was outing together the mt for budy ,installing the steal gears, went together just fine.gears wear smoth, untill i instaled the two moter mounts ,i could berly turn the gears at all,so i took them out.and fore some reason they got loose again .so i filed them down till the just slid under motor .and gears are loose again.it was stisting gear plate so c & D GEARS were binding together.any one have that problem.

yep same here.

my gears are now destroyed and i have not found a solution. i believe there one of them was out of center.

I really could not read what maxx was saying but, I think i am have the same problem, I got the D&C gears 25t steel for DDM, and they do not want to turn freely at all , at first there ok but after about 2 to 3 min of driving they get really hot and its like hitting the break with i get off the gas is binding so bad, are all of them like this or do i need to just drive it more so they can wear in better, i got all most a tank on them now

I,am trying to say that .u have to pry yhe motor up to install the motor mouts ,and doing so if u look at the gear plate it swists the c d gears ito each other, and binds the .

The gears are not true. They wobble if you look closely as you turn the wheel if you can. I went back to plastic mcd gears. They turn easy, one finger. Just stay out of the rocks or keep the cover on. $14 for 2 mcd gears or $22 for one metal gear that probably isn't centered? I never had any trouble with my plastic gears I just thought metal was better. My engine from the start was a 28.9cc race ported stroker. I never ran the 23cc piston and head. So power hasn't affected those gears just a trip down a gravel road with no cover has.

Yeah i had a person say they wanted the plastic gears back ,but i really cant go back to the plastic the D&C gears only last 5 min in plastic with a vented gear cover

My 29t and 25's have been running good. I did wear a 31t out on one side cause either it or the square it was on was off center. I got another one from Gas Jocky and everything has been good.

i can tell with my plastic gears that steel are going to be a problem.. if you look down the side of your truck you can see a certain way the gears wear.. almost horizontally .. the plastic just have more tolerance and bend/wear without problem.. steal- not so good.

I think steel gears are a good idea but I don't have a lot of money to waist buying a few sets to find a good set. There's no guarantee so you loose money. I gave up my steels because of that. I also noticed the steels were tearing up my squares and bearings. So now I had to buy all that stuff just for gear failure. Plastic gears are cheap and I don't think they can tear up anything steel. That's my way of seeing it.
