Dang that clutch is hard to take out... however, when you take 2 5mm hex wrenches (one to each bolt) and then put another thick wrench between the two to use as leverage... it will come off... ha ha ha- took me a minute to figure that one out.
 
I don't yet know enough about this engine to experiment like that :D

I got the new clutch in, put the belt on the MT, the MT gears in the Dune Runner, then but the stock gears back on the XT... so it has been a busy night. I cant wait till I wake up tomorrow afternoon to test drive these now!!!
 
OK here is a gars one. I see on ddm there are 2 different pinion gears and 2 diff crown gears. I'm guessing one is center and the other front and rear. Would it be possible to interchange? then we could have more options for gearing?
 
I would have to say no, never tried though. I don't see how you could get them to mesh.
 
Not possible. They're completely different. The center crown gear doesn't have a spot for the diff bearing, no place for the o-ring to sit, etc.
